Coming Up in Autumn 2024. Designed by a Musician with the Musicians’ best interest at heart, this Course provides a unique opportunity to explore and share with a group of like minded people some simple, yet highly effective Yogic and Mindfulness practices, tried and tested in life as a musician. Using Mindfulness tools can be beneficial in every aspect of a musician's professional life - during teaching, when preparing for and performing in public events, when facing stage nerves or confronting the inner critic, dealing with challenging pupil’s or colleague’s behavior, making deeper creative collaborative connections when working with other musicians. Benefits of Mindfulness Practice: reduced stress levels, enhanced creativity and social skills, stage nerves management, deepened understanding of how habitual thought and behaviour patterns affect our sense of self and how to bring out the best musician in ourselves. Mindful Movement - during each session we will engage in the practice of Mindful Movement. It is a gentle, yoga based form of movement, which is accessible to the majority of people, regardless of their fitness level, with modifications offers when needed. Because the body is always in the present , it can be used as an anchor for the mind to rest with the sensations of the breath, movement and sensory experience, such as a sense of touch or sound. Course will take place on 3 consecutive Saturdays, 10am - 4pm.
